Most Recent Empties of 2016

Happy Tuesday everyone. It’s been a while since I’ve done an empties post and it seems I have built up quite the collection of stuff I’ve used up. Prepare for a long post people because there’s a lot of products! So let’s dive right into it shall we? Here are the products I’ve completely used up over the past few weeks. Let’s start with hair products. There are posts about both of these products on the blog. I’ve been using the TRESemme Leave-in Split End Conditioning Treatment for a while now and I love it and have already repurchased this a few times. It’s a leave-in conditioner that you can put in your wet or dry hair to tame your frizz as well repair your split ends, also it smells so damn good! I get mine at Walmart for about $7 CAD. Not only is it a great product but also super affordable. I also have been using the Marc Anthony Second Day Clear Dry Shampoo. Shelby and I have raved about this dry shampoo …

2016 May Favourites

For some reason in my head I still think that 2016 has just started, but here we are pretty much half way through it heading into June! May has brought some seriously nice weather to Edmonton, except for the classic rainy May long weekend. This month I have a few new things that I’ve been loving and also some favourites I’ve been loving for a while. Let’s start with lip products shall we? I have been trying to collect more of the  Anastasia Beverly Hills Liquid Lipsticks. I added the shade “Crush” to my collection this month and I have been loving it. It is a pink nude which is great for every day. This and “Pure Hollywood” have been my go-to picks for the month of May. I also picked up one of the Anastasia Beverly Hills Lip Glosses in “Kristen”. Now I’m not going to lie to you, I originally just wanted it for the name. However the colour is also super pretty. It’s a really pretty brown nude and the formula of these …

Review: bareMinerals Multi-Tasking Face Powder

I have loved this product for at least a year now but oddly enough I always forget to mention it in any makeup looks or favourites posts, so today’s post is to give it the recognition is deserves! Sometimes I find regular concealer can be too heavy for my under eyes or make spots and pimples I’m trying to conceal look too cakey so that’s where this product comes in. This bareMinerals Broad Spectrum Multi-tasking Face Powder in “Bisque” is a great powder concealer that I use almost daily. The colour matches my skin tone perfectly so it’s great for concealing but not so much for brightening on myself personally. I mostly use this to cover any blemishes and pimples because it’s a lightweight formula but gives you great coverage. It’s also very pigmented so a little product goes a long way. This product currently is at Sephora for $23 which is pretty good considering this product lasts me months at a time. The only thing I will say is it isn’t very buildable. If you …

Tartlette Times Two

How many palettes is too many palettes? Because honestly I can’t get enough. I had wanted both of these palettes since I had laid eyes on them and now I finally have both! First things first about both of these palettes is the packaging is great. They are thin and sleek and with a large mirror so they are great for travel, also they are just so pretty. It’s also not cheap material so I don’t foresee these breaking on me any time soon. Now onto the product inside. First let’s discuss the original Tartelette Palette. This palette contains all matte shades from the neutral purple and brown range, it also has a matte black which is always good to have in a palette. The colours are all very pigmented, creamy and blend like a dream. I love a good shimmer shadow but sometimes you need a good matte eye look. Also purples and browns are probably my favourite colours to use on my eyes so this palette is great for my day to day looks for work. …

April Beauty Favourites

I’ve been trying out a lot of new products lately and seeing as I haven’t done a favourites post in quite some time I thought I’d gather together a bunch of items I’ve been loving this past month and let you know all about them. To start with the NYX Cosmetics Highlight & Contour Palette – this palette has eight amazing shades that work for every skin tone. My two favourite shades are Sculpt which is the perfect grey toned bronzer for creating shadows and Cream which I love to use under the eyes for extra brightness. This palette is highly pigmented and blends like a dream, not to mention the price tag is extremely affordable. And, to go allow with this palette is my new favourite contour brush. The Morphe Brushes E34 Tapered Blush Brush – not only are Morphe Brushes affordable but the quality is amazing. This brush is extremely dense and has super soft bristles. The shape of this brush allows you to get that perfect contour every time. I’ve been trying out a new brow shade …

My Top Four Favourite Foundations

Usually if you ask me to pick out my favourite products it ends up taking me hours because honestly I love everything in my collection fairly equally. But, when it comes to foundations I can pick out my must haves in seconds. There are two things I look for when it comes to foundation, the first being a natural finish and the second being it’ll last all day without fail. My number one foundation is probably a lot of people’s number ones and that is Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk. This stuff is my holy grail, unfortunately it’s also made of magic or it must be for how much it costs. This foundation is lightweight, it gives off a natural finish and two pumps of this stuff will give you a full coverage without looking cakey. As someone with very dry skin my number one fear is looking powdery and this stuff keeps me hydrated and glowing all day. For those times I know I’ll be out having drinks or dancing the night away with friends L’Oreal Infallible Pro-Matte is my …

Skincare Bits You Need & Old Favourites

I’ve updated my skincare regime quite a bit in the past six months and my skin has never felt this soft in my entire life so I thought now would be the perfect time to let you all in on my dry skin problem solvers. Of course we all have different skin so what works for me may not work for you but these products are definitely worth a shot if you ask me. For cleansing I always start with my holy grail products, the Boscia Makeup Breakup Cleansing Oil & Kiehl’s Rare Earth Deep Pore Cleanser. These two will honestly probably die with me, but recently I added in the Boscia Balancing Facial Tonic into the mix. After giving this product a try I’m convinced it’s exactly what I was missing the entire time. With only a couple sprays it leaves my skin feeling refreshed, hydrated and plump. After about a week into this product I found my skin looking more clear and a lot brighter. As someone with dry skin finding a great moisturizer is extremely …

Nude ‘Tude

Happy Monday! I know, what’s really so happy about Mondays? Nothing really. So let me try to give you a little entertainment this Monday morning. I love a nude lip. Don’t get me wrong I also love a really bold lip, but on a day to day basis for work I like to have something I don’t have to worry about reapplying or getting all over my face and/or teeth. So today I’m telling you my favourite nude lipsticks and glosses that I wear most often. Let’s start with NYX products since they are the bulk of my favourite nudes. First up has got to be the Intense Butter Gloss in “Tres Leches” which is a super pigmented nude gloss that I have fallen in love with. The NYX Butter Glosses are some of my favourite glosses and the shade “Vanilla Cream Pie” is a great pinky nude gloss that I love to wear when I am wearing “no makeup” makeup because it looks so shiny, girly and natural looking. The last NYX product has got to …
