Now that the year is almost done its my turn to tell you about the products that I’ve fell in love with in 2016!
Without a doubt I use this palette every time I do my makeup. Whether it’s to contour or just use the banana powder to set my under eyes this thing is a must for me, so the fact that I’ve hit pan on most of the shades makes me sad. With that being said though it has lasted for ages, I can still get a good few months of use before a repurchase needs to be made. The formula of these powders are super easy to blend and I can use every shade in here for something (the darkest contour shade is a great eyeshadow). This palette has been such a staple for me this year it would be a crime not to put it in my yearly favourites!
This was probably one of the most talked about and beloved beauty products this year, but for good reason! This is definitely one of my favourite foundations and the fact that it’s a drugstore brand makes it an inexpensive must-have in my makeup collection. You can make this foundation work with pretty much any kind of skin type. I’ve been oily and dry using this but pair it with a good primer and this stuff is perfection. It provides a great medium coverage and the colour range allows a wide range of skin tones to hop on this awesome bandwagon. I’ve recommended this to many people and they’ve all felt the same. If you haven’t tried this stuff yet I definitely suggest this be one of your first 2016 purchases.
Now if you’ve seen any of my makeup looks this year you will know just how much I love this stuff. I am a big fan of glowy skin and if you are to then this stuff is a must. We know how much Jaclyn Hill loves to get her glow on too so when she came out with this highlighter there was no question in my mind that it had to be mine. This is probably my favourite makeup product I own (that or the Champagne Glow palette which also includes this shade) and if you love to glow too you best be buying this ASAP!
I also fell in love with Benefit’s Roller Lash Mascara this year, but I decided this one trumps it a tiny bit because a) I find my lashes look a little fuller with this stuff and b) it’s a third of the price. While I have plenty of high end mascaras I do love this one probably beats them all. It makes my lashes long but also gives them the little bit of volume I look for without making them clumpy. With it only being about $8 how could you say no?!
This stuff has saved my blonde ends from looking like straw. I’ve been using this on wet and dry hair and it’s been working miracles. It keeps my hair looking healthy and shiny – bonus, it also smells amazing.
I’ve probably rambled on a few times on the blog about how much I love this mask so feel free to go to this post here to read about why I love it so much!
This year has been a year of skin transformation for me. I went from acne prone oily skin, to clear but SUPER dry skin, and now I seem to be right in the middle with combination skin. No matter what state my skin is in I can rely on this stuff to help me out. It sooths my skin but also gives me that boost of moisture I need when my skin is dehydrated and the gel formula feels so nice on my skin. I love the whole Vitamin E range from the Body Shop, so if your skin is giving you trouble I recommend this stuff!
So this is necessarily a “beauty product” but it has seriously changed my life. Like I said above I used to deal with acne prone oily skin. My skin used to get so bad that it would physically hurt to put on foundation because of the breakouts I was experiencing. I went to my doctor at the end of last year and he first put me on some antibiotics which turns out I am horribly allergic to, so he then prescribed me Tactupump. It’s a topical medication that you put on before bed. Now I’m going to be honest, the first month or so of using this was hell. It dried out my skin so badly I was literally slathering Vaseline on my face to fix it and my skin felt like it was being burned. However, after my skin adjusted miracles started to happen and my skin has never looked better. I still experience the odd hormonal spot once and again but I’ve never had my skin be this clear. If you are experiencing a tough time with your skin and have tried every product out there with no avail I seriously suggest asking your doctor about this stuff!
