When it comes to makeup many people shy away from trying colours and stick to the everyday neutrals. But I find some colours like this deep green are very wearable and a bit more subtle as long as you pick the right lip colour. For anyone with brown/hazel eyes, green shadows really bring out that beautiful golden brown. So, when I recently received this Bobbi Brown Metallic Eyeshadow in “Balsam” I knew I had to try it right away.
I actually had two events to go to in the same week so I thought I’d try out a couple different looks for it. The first being an all over lid shimmer, which I matched with The Balm’s Meet Matte Hughes Liquid Lipstick in “Committed.” There is just something about matching green and pink that I absolutely love. I found this look to be very glam, yet wearable. For the second event, I chose to do an almost second wing effect. I actually applied tape to create a sharp line then applied the liquid liner but if you wanted to make this look more wearable for day time you could always forgo the liner all together. I also created an ombre lip to give this look a bit more of a pop using MAC Cosmetics “Fleshpot” and Kat Von D “Love Craft” which I seriously need to buy in full size.
Let me know in the comments below which look you like the most, or how you like to wear more colourful shadows.
