Makeup Game Changers

Have you ever left a store knowing what you just purchased could change you forever? Well, that’s how we feel about these products. These products are a must in our routine, we may have a dozen other products but these are reached for on a daily basis and we know if they weren’t there we’d miss them instantly.

 gamechangers

Shelby’s Picks: When it comes to my own makeup I like to look awake and glowing. These three products are my go to for doing just that! When I found the Laura Mercier Secret Brightening Powder I was on the lookout for a powder to set my under eye concealer but at first use I knew that it was more than just that. This powder not only brightens your look but it also gives you the illusion of perfect skin, not to mention it’s extremely light and won’t settle in to any fine lines. The Hourglass Ambient Lighting Palette is fairly new to my collection but I can already tell you, I’m never putting this down. There is so much science behind this palette, its insane and I’m so glad I took the plunge and purchased it. You can use each highlight separately or you can mix and match them to get any desired look you’d like. I love a good shimmer on the cheekbone and these highlights give you just that. My first “high end” blush was actually from NARS, so I already knew how lovely they can be. But, the NARS Virtual Domination Cheek Palette is on another level. You not only get one shimmer shade and three other beautiful blushes but you get their signature Laguna Bronzer as well. Each shade creates a completely different colour, and I feel like as a whole it works perfectly for each season. Although, it was part of the holiday collection it is still available via Sephora so I highly recommend picking it up before its too late.

Krystin’s Picks: My first pick is a long time favourite of both Shelby and I and will probably continue to be a favourite until the cat eye look goes out of style. The Kat Von D Tattoo Liner in “Trooper”  is the only liquid liner I use and I don’t think I would want to be using anything else. The flexible and super-fine brush tip provides an easy and precise application to get you that perfect cat eye. It dries quickly and doesn’t budge all day. This stuff is seriously fool-proof! Now I’m sure by now you are sick of hearing about Benefit Roller Lash Mascara even though it’s still fairly new to the scene, but I seriously haven’t been using anything else since I’ve got my hands on it! This not only gives my lashes volume and length but also an amazing curl to my lashes. I’ve even been asked numerous times if I’ve been wearing fake lashes and who doesn’t love that? This is will be a definite repurchase for a long, long time. My last pick is Urban Decay Naked 2 Basics Palette because who doesn’t love/need a good neutral palette in their life? Both the warmer toned Naked Basics or the cooler toned Naked2 Basics palette are the best for creating a classic matte neutral eye look. I honestly can say I use at least of these shades every day so you could say it’s a staple in my life.

  1. I think that I’m much more similar to Krystin. I would be lost without my Naked Basics/Becca Ombre Nudes palette(s), really any multi-purpose mascara, and my Makeup Forever aqua eyes liner in 2L. I’ve had them forever and completely love them!
